Veterinary Referral Center of Northern Virginia Provides Comprehensive Ophthalmology Services Beginning July 23rd

Comprehensive ophthalmology services will be available for dogs and cats through the new Ophthalmology Division at the Veterinary Referral Center of Northern Virginia in Manassas beginning July 23rd.  Led by Dr. Michelle Samuel, highly skilled, board-certified ophthalmologist, our services will include:

  • Eye Examinations including slit lamp biomicroscopy, indirect and direct ophthalmoscopy, gonioscopy, and CERF
  • Diagnostic Vision Tests including electroretinograms and red and blue pupillary light test (SARDS test)
  • Additional Diagnostics such as ocular ultrasound, cytology, and biopsy
  • Surgery for
    • Orbital Disease
    • Eyelid and Third Eyelid Disease
    • Nasolacrimal Duct
    • Cornea Disease
    • Anterior Segment Disease
    • Lensectomies
    • Cataracts
    • Glaucoma
    • Retinal Issues
    • Salvage Procedures

Services such as intraocular prosthetic placement, treatment for indolent ulcers, grafting techniques for deep/ruptured corneal disease, prophylactic retinopexies, removal of masses/foreign bodies associated with the eye and eyelids, and more will be provided.
